At our restaurant, Japanese curry is more than just dishes filled with love and cherished memories. As a mother, I will always remember that when my children were young, the one dish I could count on to make their classmates finish their meals was my Japanese curry. To me, curry is not just delicious; it is a way to nourish my family with warmth and care.
Opening this Japanese curry restaurant was an unexpected opportunity, but it quickly grew into a meaningful dream. I wanted to bring that home-cooked taste to Toronto, to share the love and comfort it brings. To make sure I was offering something truly special, I visited curry restaurants across the US, UK, France, China, and Japan, learning how they adapted curry to local tastes. Curry, which originated in India, was embraced by the British and brought to Japan by the navy, where it became a staple in the cold northern regions of Hokkaido, much like ramen. As I approach retirement, I am excited to share my version of this curry—the same one that nourished my children—with the people of Toronto. Each bite is filled with love and warmth, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts. Together, we can create more dishes that will continue to warm your hearts and fill your bellies.
